Royal expert says Prince William readies Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as future ‘spares’

Prince William appears to be emulating his father’s path, potentially echoing the missteps made by King Charles with Prince Harry, now with his own younger siblings.

According to royal expert Richard Eden’s article in the Daily Mail, Prince William is contemplating a significant reduction in the number of working members within the royal family, drawing inspiration from smaller European monarchies.

If this plan materializes, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would be the primary casualties of William’s new strategy.

William aims to continue streamlining the monarchy even after older members retire, which could potentially limit the roles of his younger children.

Discussing the recent Trooping the Colour ceremony, where only a few Royal family members appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony, Eden expressed concern about the monarchy’s future after speaking with one of William’s close friends.

The insider revealed that William fully agrees with King Charles on the necessity of a “slimmed-down monarchy.” When older family members retire, His Royal Highness won’t extend invitations to new working royals.

As for Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, it remains uncertain whether William will want them to take on active royal duties. He envisions the model of small European monarchies as the way forward.

Eden added his own perspective, suggesting that continuing with a significantly reduced monarchy might be a mistake for William, especially once Harry and Meghan are no longer there to provide support.
